A while ago I was wandering around an antique shop and stumbled on a few sheets of old tile. I instantly fell in love and purchased every piece they had. They only had about 8 sheets; not quite enough to complete any large projects. However, after a lot of thought, I decided to make a tiled tray.

I had a simple tray from Target that fit my idea perfectly. Overall, the project was pretty quick and painless. I’m really happy with the final outcome.
The first step was laying out all the tile on the tray and deciding which pieces may need to be trimmed.

Graham needs in the action at all time.

I used tile sheers to trim the thin edges of a tiles that overlapped. After laying everything out, I used Gorilla Glue to adhere the tiles to the tray and let it sit overnight. I purchased a cream colored grout from Home Depot, and following the directions on the packaging, filled in the grout lines. After cleaning up the grout haze, here’s the final product.
Graham likes it.
